An analysis of Beard Oil: How it works

Hope you are all balling, living the dream and that your beards are in fine condition as we head into the colder months.

In my previous blog post, I mentioned that we have opened our doors at The Gentleman's Beard Club and I must thank you for the beard oil purchases. This post relates specifically to The Gentleman's Beard Oil which I will analyse and take you through the ingredients and how it works.

One of the first things I am asked by potential clients is 'What is beard oil and what are the benefits?" The answer to that is that beard oil assists in providing your beard with an abundance of nourishing, all-natural ingredients to help give your beard follicles the treatment it needs to grow healthy. Let me explain the ingredients and you will see why The Gentleman's Beard Oil works so well.

Oil #1: Argan Oil

By now you must have heard the wonder reviews of Moroccan Argan oil. This oil is derived from the kernels of the argan tree which is endemic (native) to Morocco. For years, Moroccans have been using this wonder oil as a cosmetic and this oil has gained impressive popularity from the world's most exclusive cosmetic corporations. This is because argan oil is used to treat skin ailments such as acne and dry skin.

Apart from the amazing skin benefits, argan oil is used to treat dry, damaged and brittle hair. I have specifically selected argan oil as an ingredient as it adds that touch of exclusiveness which I want you all to experience. In time to come, I plan to visit Morocco to learn more about the process of making 'liquid gold' and share the story of that journey with you.

Oil #2: Jojoba Oil

Another oil I have selected to use is Jojoba oil which is grown from the shrub like plant in Mexico and California. I thought this oil has a particularly soft and silky texture which absorbs easily into the skin and can assist the skin beneath your beard with nourishment. Jojoba oil works well for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. This oil hydrates hair from the shaft and because of its properties, can penetrate beard follicles to strengthen hair from the inside. I simply had to use this as part of my premium beard oil.

Oil #3: Grapeseed Oil  

Grapeseed oil is pressed from the seeds of grapes. Its primary use in cosmetic products is its ability to control the moisture of the skin. This oil is extremely light and residue free making it super absorbent which is why your beard will not appear oily or weighed down. Many men use this oil as a pre-shave oil as it has the properties of being a lubricant and for strengthening hair.

How to use The Gentleman’s Beard Oil?

Step #1 – Begin your day by washing your beard with a beard soap or beard wash which are products developed specifically for the beard as it does not strip your beard of its natural oils. After washing, rinse and towel dry.

Step #2 - Apply a few drops of beard oil into the palm of your hand and rub your hands. Work your hands through your beard from the skin beneath your beard up to the roots and outwards. This ensures that the argan and jojoba oil assist the beard with looking healthy and full. Do this twice daily.

Step #3. Comb your beard. This will help work the oil through your beard hair.

Step #4. Walk out the room like a boss and take on the day!

The Gentleman’s Beard Oil is the base product to use in your beard grooming regime. Once you are comfortable with using the beard oil, you could start introducing other products of ours to groom you further.
